Dollywood Festivals in 2020
Dollywood Festivals in 2020
While it’s hard to imagine Pigeon Forge without Dollywood, it’s even harder to believe it’s already been 35 years since it opened! While there’s always a reason to celebrate, Dollywood has, in true Smoky Mountain fashion, packed it’s calendar full of events, festivals, award winning dining options and must see performances, enough to last a year. From international cuisine in the spring to the sounds of Christmas carols in the winter, there’s always a reason to visit Dollywood (as if you needed one!). To help plan your perfect trip to help the park celebrate, here are our favorite Dollywood Festivals for 2020. And, it’s just minutes from Willow Brook Lodge!
Festival of Nations
Kicking off the 35th anniversary season is Dollywood’s Festival of Nations. From opening day on March 14th until April 20th, the park comes alive with the sights or spring, sounds of internationally-acclaimed musicians and smells of wonderful food from around the world. Go around the world without leaving Pigeon Forge! With stage productions including Namaste India and Ole, returning interactive drumming experience of Drumstruck as well as JigJam and the Invaders Steel Orchestra there’s something for everyone in your group to enjoy.
Barbeque and Bluegrass Festival
If you take some of the biggest stars of Bluegrass music and add the tastiest barbeque in the South, what do you get? Dollywood’s Barbeque & Bluegrass Festival of course! This April 24th to May 3rd, the park comes alive with the sound of music and the smell of great food. This year’s musical lineup includes Dailey & Vincent, The Cleverlys and more. With free daily concerts, amazing food and the Dollywood’s signature attractions, a day spent at the Barbecue & Bluegrass Festival is guaranteed to be a day you remember for years to come.
Flower and Food Festival
Brand new in 2020, Dollywood’s Flower & Food Festival will showcase Spring with dazzling colored plants and flowers. From May 8th until June 14th the park comes alive with beautifully sculpted flowers. In partnership with Mosaicultures, designs including a depictions of Dolly’s Coat of Many Colors, animal scenes and a butterfly umbrella will decorate the park. And don’t forget the food! There’s something for every “Foodie” in your group. With culinary creations including heirloom tomato and feta cheese galette, caprese skewers with a balsamic reduction, fresh violet slushies and much more, this is sure to be a festival you visit for years to come.
Summer Celebration
One of our favorite summer traditions is spending a day at Dollywood. This year’s Summer Celebration at Dollywood will be held June 20th to August 2nd. Not only can you expect Dollywood’s award winning attractions, music and food, you’ll also be able to see the return of The Gazillion Bubbles Show. With extended park hours and nightly fireworks, you may need more than one day to experience everything the park has to offer.
Rock the Smokies
This August 22nd Dollywood’s annual contemporary Christian concert is the perfect way to say goodbye to summer. The Rock the Smokies festival, will feature some of the biggest names in Christian rock, including Toby Mac and Crowder. Make your plans today to experience this time of worship.
Harvest Festival featuring Great Pumpkin LumiNights and Southern Gospel Jubilee
From September 25th – October 31st, Dollywood guests are treated to free daily concerts as part of the Southern Gospel Jubilee and can watch world class artisans from all over the country display their handmade items. And of course, you can’t forget the decorations! Great Pumpkin LumiNights features fantastic scenes and beautiful pumpkin sculptures that are beautiful both day and night. You can enjoy all this, along with award winning seasonal food options, the Harvest Festival at Dollywood is one spot you want to be this fall.
Smoky Mountain Christmas
One of the best ways to celebrate the holiday season is Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas. This November 7th through January 2nd, the park comes to life with holiday spirit with five million twinkling lights, holiday food choices, award winning musical performances, nightly parades and some of the holiday’s favorite characters including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, in addition to more than 20 signature rides and attractions.
